Journal entries

HAQ ERP journal entries are the controlled way to record manual and generated ledger movements.

Journal entries record debit and credit lines in the general ledger.

Use this screen for

  • Manual adjustments.
  • Opening balances.
  • Reclassifications.
  • Accruals and corrections.
  • Reviewing entries generated from invoices, payments, inventory, POS, and other documents.

Entry rules

  • Total debit must equal total credit.
  • Posted entries affect reports.
  • Draft entries can be edited.
  • Posted entries should be reversed or adjusted rather than silently changed.
  • If approvals are enabled, a journal entry may need approval before posting.

Line source helper

The line editor can start from a product, bank, partner, or direct chart-of-account selection. The final account remains visible so the accountant can confirm the posting target before saving.

Multi-currency

Foreign-currency debit and credit amounts are converted into reporting/base currency using the selected exchange rate. Keep exchange rates up to date before posting foreign-currency entries.
